There are a number of local, professional guides throughtout the Catskill Mountain region that can be hired to lead outdoor adventures for large groups, families, or even solo outings. To become a professional guide in New York STate, individuals must complete specific certifications and classes/trainings determined by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. Guides can be hired for hunting, backpacking, hiking, fishing, ice climbing, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, boating, and even pack horse trips. The best place to look for professional guides in the Catskills is through the New York State Outdoor Guide Association (NYSOGA).
