Western Devil's Path

This one-way hike, beginning in Stony Clove Notch and concluding at the western end of the Devils Path, is 11.4 miles with 3700’ of elevation gain. Rated as difficult, this hike is for fit, experienced, and self-sufficient hikers only and is expected to take ten hours. The pace will be moderate -- about 1.5 mph moving speed, with short breaks.

Hikers need to bring lunch, plenty of water (2+ liters) and sports drink, snacks, (we will not stop for a long lunch), insect repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses, sturdy/water resistant hiking shoes, headlamp (just in case), and hiking poles (recommended). This hike is limited to 12 people, and registration is required. To register, contact Marv Freedman at marvfreedman@gmail.com by June 7. Please include your cell number in your registration request. Dogs are permitted with the permission of the event leader.

We will meet at the Spruceton Road Parking Lot at 8am and ready to shuttle. (This parking lot is also known as the Mink Hollow Parking Lot but not to be confused with Mink Hollow on the Eastern Devils Path.) This will be the end of the hike; we will shuttle to Stony Clove Notch to begin.
