Windham High Peak

Take a hike to the Catskill’s northernmost high peak with Al Purdy and friends. This will be a 7.6-mile out-and-back route from the Escarpment Trail Parking Area on Route 23. Rated as moderate-to-difficult, this outing is expected to take about six hours. Hikers need to bring lunch/ food, water/ sports drink, traction aids (e.g. microspikes), warm layers of clothes, proper outerwear, winter boots, gaiters, poles, and a headlamp and batteries. Hikers also need to wear orange because it is hunting season.

This hike is limited to 12 people, and registration is required by November 27. To register, contact Al Purdy at Albertpurdy1@aol.com or (845) 514-0919. Note that dogs are not permitted on this hike, and poor weather will postpone the hike. We will meet at 9am at the Escarpment Trail Parking Area on Route 23 in Windham.
