Join Marv Freedman and friends for this very challenging 12-mile hike to the summits of Indian Head, Twin, Sugarloaf. The hike, with 4700’ in elevation gain and rated “difficult”, begins at the Prediger Road Trailhead and concludes at Notch Lake. Participation is limited to experienced, self-sufficient hikers. Great views and fun scrambles.
Hikers need to bring lunch/ snacks, water/ sports drink (recommended 2 to 3 liters), water-resistant boots, headlamp (we should finish well before dark, but need to be prepared in case we're delayed), gaiters (recommended), poles (recommended), cap with brim, sunscreen, and insect repellent. Snacks to be eaten during short breaks/ we won’t stop for a long lunch. The moving pace will be moderate -- about 1.5 mph moving speed.
The hike is limited to 12 people and registration is required. To register, contact Marv Freedman at marvfreedman@gmail.com by May 15. Please include your cell number in your registration request. Dogs are permitted with the permission of the event leader. Note: meeting place and time, route details, and required gear are subject to change based on weather forecast, trail conditions, etc. Updated information will be provided via email, usually about two to four days before the hike.
