Indian Head and Twin Mountains

View from Twin Mountain (Siu S. Yuen)

Join Siu S. Yuen and friends for this eight-mile challenging and strenuous hike to Indian Head Mountain (3,573 ft.) and Twin Mountain (3,650 ft.). We'll take the Devil's Path from the first junction at 0.25, hiking Indian Head and then over to Twin as an out-and-back from Jimmy Dolan Notch. There are beautiful views from east Twin, in which the view from this rock ledge is one of the better views and hard to match anywhere in the Catskills. We'll continue for 0.7 miles to the west peak of Twin where we'll break for lunch/snacks. Rated as difficult, this hike includes beautiful views, rock scrambles, and is expected to take eight hours. We’ll meet at the Prediger Road Trailhead at 8:30am.

Hikers need to bring lunch/ snacks, water (at least two liters)/ drink, sunscreen, insect repellent, proper clothing and raingear, and most importantly, sturdy hiking boots. This event is limited to ten people, and registration is required. To register, contact Siu S. Yuen at ssyuen@msn.com by June 26. Note, dogs are not permitted on this hike.
