Wittenberg from Cornell
This is a long, challenging bushwack and trail hike over four high peaks with difficult scrambles and fantastic views. Distance: 18.5 miles. Elevation gain: 4000’. Approx duration: 13 hours. Rating: Difficult.
Hikers need to bring water/sports drink (2+ liters recommended), snacks, lunch (we will not stop for a long lunch), insect repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses, sturdy/water resistant hiking shoes, hiking poles (recommended), and a headlamp & extra batteries (We will probably finish after dark.) This hike is limited to 12 people, and registration is required. To register, contact Marv Freedman at marvfreedman@gmail.com by April 10. Please include your cell number in your registration request. Dogs are permitted with the permission of the event leader. Updated information will be provided via email, usually about two to four days before the hike.

Driving Directions: From Rt. 28 , just west of Phoenicia, turn south on Woodland Valley Rd. Cross Esopus Creek. Turn rt. on Woodland Valley Rd. Travel about 6 miles to the Woodland Valley State Campground. Turn right into Day Use Lot.
